Positioning OpScope in a new category of collaborative, micro‑signal process intelligence.
OpScope was developed as a powerful piece of software with decades of measurement‑system expertise behind it – but a not-yet-defined position in a crowded category cluttered with time trackers, task miners, enterprise process mining platforms, and manual CI tools.
As TimerPro’s successor for knowledge and service‑based environments, OpScope had immense potential – but needed a strategic positioning, an ownable space in the market, a buyer‑first narrative, a brand identity, and a website capable of educating the category while driving conversion.
Our task was clear:
Build a new sub-category around OpScope, position it as “Process Intelligence”, create a brand with humanity and authority – and launch it with a website that communicates speed, scale, collaboration, and trust.
A category defined by outdated tools, archaic manual processes, and misunderstood challenges
Continuous Improvement (CI) teams and consultants still rely on:
- Stopwatch-based observation
- Manual time studies
- Fragmented spreadsheets
- Tribal knowledge
- Coarse timesheets (6–15 minute increments)
These tools are slow, biased, intimidating for participants and offer no granular view of variation or context. This left OpScope with a massive market opportunity – because they are the perfect solution.
But buyers had no idea a tool like OpScope could exist.
Most CI leaders are trained using Lean/Six Sigma methods that assume manual capture is the norm. OpScope’s sub-category wasn’t “broken” – it was invisible to them.
It was important that we separated OpScope from “surveillance tech” and time‑tracking stigma. The team was rightly cautious.
So, we needed a narrative that:
- removes surveillance anxiety
- makes participants feel empowered
- frames the tool as collaborative with the goal of increasing process and employee effectiveness
- keeps CI leaders confident, and not threatened by AI
And at the same time, we needed to avoid comparison to enterprise Process Mining giants like Celonis and UiPath who define “Process Intelligence” as system‑driven log mining. OpScope is human-driven, micro-level, context-rich, and study-based. We needed to put OpScope in the PI category but create a unique niche:
PI for CI – built for people, not systems.
Our strategic approach
We audited:
- Time trackers
- Workforce analytics
- Task mining
- Consulting tools
- Legacy CI methods
- Process mining platforms
We discovered clear whitespace:
No single solution offered micro-level capture + qualitative context + rapid time-to-value + cost-effective study-based pricing.
This became OpScope’s strategic anchor.
We then built a multi-persona model and identified the universal driver:
All personas want confidence – in the data, in their decisions, and in how the tool will be received by teams.
So confidence became the brand’s core promise.
The category reframing gave OpScope positioning power
We reframed OpScope’s category from…
Time tracking, surveillance, observation, spreadsheets.
to
A collaborative study-based Process Intelligence tool delivering stakeholder-ready insights in days.
The messaging pillars became:
UNLOCK WHAT DRIVES PERFORMANCE
Granular, human, contextual capture – without disruption.
PROVE EVERY IMPROVEMENT
Statistically valid, defensible evidence CI leaders can trust.
TURN INSIGHT INTO ACTION – FASTER
Exec-ready outputs in days, enabling rapid decision-making.
These pillars solved the core buyer pains of lacking details, expensive enterprise CI systems, surveillance fear creating friction in adoption, distrust in statistically invalid data, and difficulty providing defensible insights to leadership.
Everything laddered to one promise:
Create stakeholder‑ready improvement plans in days – with the speed leaders want and the trust teams need.
Making OpScope unignorable
Our creative output intentionally avoided:
- “corporate blue” tropes
- tech clichés
- AI software boom iconography
- surveillance-like visuals
We focused in on a warm, humanised colour palette with contemporary typography, a symbol system inspired by flow, iteration and micro-signal aggregation, and a clear interface-led design. This gave OpScope visual distinctiveness in their category and adjacent categories. We made OpScope unignorable.
This new OpScope brand feels empathetic, modern, approachable and built for collaboration – without deviating too much from looking like a software company.
Bringing the OpScope brand to life with a website that captures and converts demand
We needed a website to satisfy consultants wanting proof, IT wanting clarity, participants needing reassurance and leaders wanting confidence. We blended UX and SEO to ensure we captured the right traffic and took them on the right journey.
The product pages targeted key purchase-intent terms like continuous improvement tools and CI study software, while a series of early-stage ToFu keywords – spanning process intelligence, process analytics and workforce efficiency – could be covered with SEO blogs that we created ready for launch.

The homepage was intentionally crafted to reframe the category issue, humanise the participant experience and validate CI leaders’ frustrations with an attainable solution – OpScope.
We worked with the OpScope team to reduce as much friction in the buying journey as possible – leaning into free demo opportunities, ‘Start for free’ CTAs, and a ‘No credit card sign-up’ commitment.
The impact of this strategic positioning and unignorable brand
OpScope now owns an identifiable, defensible niche separate from time tracking and heavy enterprise. This is a brand that genuinely reflects the power and quality of the OpScope software – modern and human but with the 30+ year technology lineage of its parent company ACS.
This transformation from an unarmed software product to a fully-fledged Process Intelligence platform required more than design. It demanded category creation, market reframing, buyer psychology understanding and the development of an ownable narrative.
We always aim to make work we’re proud of at Cremarc, but this project reflects more than that. OpScope are now positioned to lead a completely new category of collaborative, human-centred Process Intelligence, and we can be proud that we were a part of that journey.
“Cremarc took the time to understand our proposition and goals, guide and advise us with their detailed market research and brand positioning expertise, and articulate the OpScope ethos in a powerful and clear way. The messaging and design are unignorable in the market and match the quality and integrity of our platform.”
