Pushing category boundaries for myrtle.ai's low-latency AI inference technology.
A new category of ultra‑low‑latency, FPGA‑accelerated AI inference was emerging – but myrtle.ai, despite having the fastest numbers in the market, wasn’t being perceived that way.
They had category‑defining technology, externally validated by STAC‑ML™ benchmarking, used by some of the world’s most sophisticated proprietary trading firms…but the brand, the articulation and the digital presence didn’t match the level of engineering brilliance underneath.
So, we set out to build myrtle’s position as the definitive low‑latency AI inference leader – with a brand that feels as technologically elite as the firms they serve, a website that converts at speed, and an omnichannel demand engine that makes VOLLO unignorable.
Our task was clear:
Transform myrtle.ai from a brilliant engineering team into the most desirable, credible and researched brand in low‑latency inference – and give them the commercial engine to win the category.
A misunderstood category, a silent competitor, and a buyer that hates marketing
A brutally technical niche – with brutally particular buyers
myrtle.ai sells to proprietary trading firms, high- and medium-frequency traders, quantitative funds and market makers – audiences that are:
- hyper‑analytical
- insanely sceptical
- allergic to marketing
- obsessed with latency, throughput and competitive edge
- secretive and difficult to reach
- deeply technical and smart, often PhD-level engineers
Latency is their edge.
Nanoseconds are money.
VOLLO – myrtle.ai’s flagship product – delivers sub‑microsecond inference latency, outperforming GPUs and competing accelerators with ease. But the ICPs had no idea myrtle.ai existed.
The gap between the power of the product and the perception of the brand was enormous.
And buyers had no understanding of myrtle.ai yet
Inference cancellation. Model throughput. Ultra‑low‑latency model execution. FPGA-based inference. Sub‑microsecond latency.
These concepts aren’t widely understood outside tiny technical circles – meaning myrtle.ai was effectively marketing a category that didn’t exist yet.
The battle wasn’t competitors. It was invisibility.
Our strategic approach
We approached the myrtle.ai project in four integrated layers.
1. Define an uncompromising position in an undefined category
We reframed myrtle.ai’s value into a simple, powerful category place:
The Low-Latency AI Inference Leader.
Not just “fast.”
Not just “high performance.”
Not “accelerated.”
But sub‑microsecond speed.
We built the go-to-market messaging around:
- Latency as a profit multiplier
- Inference speed as trading edge
- Execution confidence at microsecond scale
- Externally verified performance
This became the anchor.
myrtle.ai’s primary direct competitor could copy sentences – but they couldn’t copy the speed, benchmarks or identity of myrtle.ai.
2. A brand identity worthy of the fastest inference engine on earth
The original visual identity didn’t match the quality of the engineering. So we rebuilt it.
A dual-architecture brand system for the parent and product:
myrtle.ai in lowercase: soft, human, creative, innovative
VOLLO in uppercase: aggressive, elite, powerful, engineered
A high‑performance visual language of:
- sharp angles
- fast-motion cues
- dark subtle gradients
- no “AI blue” clichés
- no consumer‑AI aesthetic
- fast, technical, premium
A distinctive asset:
The Peregrine Falcon
The fastest animal on the planet – symbolising:
- speed
- precision
- elite targeting
- lethal acceleration
- apex dominance
Perfectly mirroring VOLLO’s category promise. This defined the look and feel for VOLLO and made it completely unignorable.

3. A website that converts ultra‑technical buyers without being dull
We rebuilt the myrtle.ai website into a high‑performance conversion engine for the trading community with sharper, bolder messaging.
“Low latency AI inference for capital markets”
“Deploy machine learning models that run in microseconds”
“World-leading low latency AI inference”
We put VOLLO front-and-centre. The VOLLO simulator became the primary CTA to drive pipeline and we scattered proof points everywhere.
- STAC‑ML benchmarks
- 7x GPU performance
- Verified latency numbers
- FPGA integration flexibility

4. A launch engine that made myrtle.ai impossible to ignore
We executed an omnichannel go‑to‑market strategy starting with a Reddit takeover of quant, trading & HFT communities.
One of the smartest early levers – decision-makers and practitioners actively live in:
- r/algotrading
- r/quant
- r/HighFrequencyTrading
- r/FinancialCareers
- r/FPGA
- r/MachineLearning
With low CPMs and exceptional CTRs, Reddit became myrtle.ai’s stealth growth channel for the most technical audiences in finance while no direct competitors even thought of marketing here.
We also needed to capture demand of in-market buyers though, so we launched the new website with solid SEO foundations and deep technical content.
We built an SEO plan across the real problem themes proprietary traders search for:
- low latency trading systems
- AI inference latency
- FPGA vs GPU for trading
- model throughput optimisation
- sub‑millisecond inference
The result:
myrtle.ai is now outranking its direct competitor for branded search – with an increase of 669% in branded searches. This is our validation for Reddit-based demand gen.
Because we’re targeting smart, techy people who like AI, we knew that GEO would be a key channel. We ensured myrtle.ai and VOLLO surface in LLMs like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity for queries like:
- “fastest inference engine”
- “low latency AI inference”
- “GPU alternatives for trading models”
This was all only possible because we made myrtle.ai truly unignorable
We produced a premium, cinematic video asset showcasing VOLLO’s speed and explaining the value proposition which we syndicated across:
- Google Performance Max
- And soon – YouTube and Spotify

The impact of this strategic evolution
The impact was immediate and undeniable.
Branded search exploded (+669%). More people are searching “myrtle.ai”, “VOLLO”, and “low latency inference” than ever before.
Website visibility surged (+187% sessions). 95% driven by our paid media strategy.
VOLLO simulator traffic grew sharply. High‑value sandbox sessions from serious technical evaluators grew by >200%.
myrtle.ai caught up to and began overtaking their direct competitor. They had the brand lead while myrtle.ai had the technology lead. Now myrtle.ai has flipped the script.
A trusted commercial engine finally existed. myrtle.ai moved from sporadic inbound to an omnichannel demand engine supporting growth in trading, cyber, and telecoms.
We found an invisible category leader and gave them a brand to match their technological excellence. Now, myrtle.ai:
- Stands apart from their competitors with intentional brand architecture
- Has an elite visual identity that feels high‑performance
- Shows up everywhere their buyers live: Reddit, Google, LLMs
- Has a demand engine that works at scale and speed
- Finally looks as good as their technology is
What began as a small but brilliant engineering team is now rightfully positioned as the authority in sub‑microsecond AI inference – with a brand and go‑to‑market presence that commands credibility, attention, and desire.
We always aim to make work we’re proud of at Cremarc, but this project pushed our team beyond that – making some of the most complex technology we’ve ever marketed digestible for the right audience wasn’t an easy task but we achieved it. We can be proud that we played a major part in this transformation and that we continue to deliver exciting marketing campaigns for the myrtle.ai team.
